Construction of a new covered stand is one of the clearest statements a club can make about itself and its relationship with the community. A grandstand roof is often the most dominant structure in the locality, and is likely to be a club's greatest visual link with it's surroundings. The design of a new grandstand roof therefore offers a rare opportunity to enhance a clubs status, and as such demands careful thought.
The information given in this FSADC guideline publication, is relevant to any club, large or small, seeking to provide a roof over spectator accommodation. "Stadium Roofs" is not a comprehensive technical manual on the design and construction of stadium roofs.
