Accessible Stadia Solutions

Posted by SGSA  |  Filed under News

On 24 September 2011, SGSA Inspector Ian Smith joined a panel of experts in a discussion of ‘Accessible Stadia Solutions’ at Wembley Stadium, London. The session was part of the first ever conference of the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE), with a theme of 'Total Football, Total Access'. The aim was to highlight the importance of good access to stadiums for football fans, and over 170 delegates from across Europe attended.

CAFE and UEFA used the event to launch a co-produced Good Practice Guide providing essential advice on 'good access'. The conference welcomed many huge names from the world of football, such as CAFE Chairman David Bernstein, England international defender Danny Mills and former Manchester United winger Danny Wallace. They were joined by Polish legend Dariusz Dziekanowski, former Chelsea captain Paul Elliott and ex-Scottish midfielder Tony Higgins.
